Fuji, Japan – JATCO Ltd will be exhibiting at the Automotive Engineering Exposition 2023 Yokohama being held May 24–26, 2023 at the Pacifico Yokohama Exhibition Hall. We will also be holding a press briefing at our booth on May 24 9:25–9:45 a.m. by our President and CEO, Tomoyoshi Sato.

JATCO Booth (Booth number: 37)

Under our Corporate Purpose of “Driving the possibilities of mobility with technology and passion,” JATCO is responding to carbon neutrality and other societal needs, and contributing to the realization of a sustainable society. Our under-development e-Axle electrified-vehicle drive units will make their public premieres here at the Automotive Engineering Exposition 2023 Yokohama.

The JATCO booth will be exhibiting two of our e-Axles: an offset-axle design, and a multi-speed transmission design. The offset design is roughly the size of a 15-inch laptop computer, realized through the use of a high-rpm motor and compact gears. This compact design can be applied from kei to compact cars, and generates up to 60 kW of power. The multi-speed transmission design restrains increase in motor size for high-power applications such as pickup trucks and commercial vehicles by using a transmission to realize cost and size reductions.

JATCO is also considering making use of its electrified powertrain mechanisms and technologies outside of automobiles in drive units for mobility. As one example of this, we will be exhibiting a drive unit for electric bicycles that integrates an assist motor and a gearbox.
